Brooke Nelsen '25 Recruiting Profile

My fondest memory throughout my highschool and club career so far has been to learn from one person who has truly impacted my volleyball career. My freshman year I was put on varsity a few games into the season. One of the seniors that year was the starting varsity libero and had been since she was a freshman. Through this new opportunity I earned I was able to see the game through her eyes and find a new love and work ethic for volleyball. Because of her influence, the next year I was able to come out and take the starting spot. In my sophomore year I have seen myself grow in ways I never imagined. I found myself being able to take initiative and find a voice for myself on the court. This spread to other aspects of my life, I brought my involvement in FCA to our program, I also made some connections with people that brought me closer in once distant friendships. Since the start of freshman year I have been dedicated to advancing my skills in hopes of reaching the college level. I have seen some drawbacks through club, but could not be more happy than where I am at now with my coach and team. I am determined to grow as an athlete, student, and person to support the future team I will be a part of. Bettering my academic and social life will be some of my goals on my way to becoming a college athlete these next few years.
