Personal Statement

Volleyball has been part of my life since I was about eight years old. When I was in elementary school I was introduced to volleyball in P.E class. My P.E teacher was also the high school volleyball coach, and he inspired me to want to play volleyball. All through out elementary school and middle school I watched the "big" high school girls on the varsity team play,  just dreaming of one day being able to play at the level. My dream was to play varsity volleyball, but my new dream is to play at that collegiate level.  The game of volleyball and playing on a team has taught me many life lessons that I can apply to other parts of my life such as, working with others to achieve a common goal. Although I truly believe it is my coaches who have changed my life. My high school coach and club coach have taught me discipline and to work hard for what I want to achieve, I don't know where I would be with out these people and the sport of volleyball.

Through this recruiting process my goal is to find a college with a volleyball program where I can play volleyball at the collegiate level, and fit into to their program, but I would also like to find a college where I can thrive and challenge myself academically. I have 4.14 GPA and I am president of my class, my goal after graduating from college is to get a law degree or possibly get into politics, or maybe even nursing I still have to narrow down my career options, but I would like the school I attend to be a school that will set me up for success in my life after college.

Volleyball will always be a passion of mine and a lifestyle, no matter where I attend college. I will work hard and improve every day on and off the court. Volleyball has shaped my character and my personality. I am excited to see where the sport of volleyball will take me.
