Dear Coaches!
I sincerely appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedule to read my profile. I want to continue to compete, learn, and build friendships through my love of volleyball in college. I love being part of a team, and have a deep passion for the sport and the resilience and focus to make it happen. I respect my coaches, am calm under pressure, see the lessons in the losses, don’t sweat the small stuff, and always focus on improving. I’m not sure what I want to major in college, but I want to work with kids in mental health or sports. Being a well-rounded athlete is a core value & I've invested in vertical, speed, agility & plyometrics training at a gym where I’ve been working out since middle school. In the past 4 months, I've gained 4 inches in my vertical.
I've been loving and playing volleyball since 2019. My club career began in 8th grade. I always loved the sport but patiently waited my turn to play after my big sister as we could only afford to have one of us in club sports. In my 1st season, I played for Flatiron's 14s. In my 2nd season, I made the traveling and more competitive team for Arete 15s which provided an eye-opening experience! Every game we played hard and if we lost it didn’t feel like it because we always learned something new and got better at our positions. I stayed with Arete for 16's, and this team has helped me grow stronger mentally and physically and that's more than a win to me or any points can show. In addition to my club experience, I made varsity as a freshman and sophomore for my high school team. Both club and high school have taught me how to be a coachable player & how to be mentally strong. When I play volleyball it feels like true happiness.
Thank you,
Violet
