Brooke Cuthbertson '20 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing travel volleyball for seven years now, and with that I’ve learned how to balance my academic career alongside my athletic one. A big thing for me, was always maintaining my grades, and never falling back in any aspect of life. Over my years as a student athlete (5th-11th grade currently) I’ve never received a grade lower than a B-,  and every year I continue to raise my academic standards, with goals for my junior year to never recieve a grade lower than a B+.

On the court, I love to be a leader. When someone makes a mistake, I’m always the one to step up and help them shake it off and move onto the point at hand, because volleyball is just as much a mental sport as it is a physical one; an aspect everyone needs reminder of from time to time. I love to cheer my teammates on, and am always seen jumping wildly in the air for every point played.

As a junior in highschool, something that has been haunting me is how little time I have left playing this sport at a competitive level, and I think that is how I realized I have to do everything I can to continue to play through college.
