Dakota Richardson '18 Recruiting Profile

I ignited my passion for the game of Volleyball in my 7th grade year of middle school. From there on out I couldn't get enough of it! I played my heart and couldn't wait to get to high school and play! After my Sophomore year tryouts I was a starting varsity outside hitter from there, through my Junior year and finishing up my Senior season as the star player and team captain! I never thought I would want to play in college but with the amount of joy it brings to play and be on a team that loves it just as me is the most rewarding feeling. As my 2017 senior season came to an end I had to find another way to play. Shortly I found the college of Florida Southern hosts a traveling time named Southern Select! Immediately, I trained as much as possibly before the tryouts and made the team as an outside and right side hitter. I am 5'7" and 140 pounds with a block jump of 9'1", and an approach jump of 9'5.  I am really looking into staying in state for college as it is closer to home but if the special opportunity is presented, I may just have to say yes.
