Volleyball is not just my Passion, its my lifestyle. I always played on the school team, but like a hobby. Then, I started taking clinics when I was 12 years old (8th grade) and always had a desire to play at the next level. On that year taking clinics, I improved a lot so coaches started looking for me for their teams. On our last sub championship, I won the MVP, most valuable player. In 9th grade, I started playing on a competitive team where I was captain. My first position was opposite, but then, they changed me to outside hitter. In school, I won the Sportsmanship Award for being highlighted among the best in my school. I was also inducted into The hall of fame for Ester Feliciano High School. That sacrifice and effort led me to win a scholarship in 10th grade. This was my best year; we won approximately 15 undefeated championships and 2 sub-championships. Then, my family decided to move from Puerto Rico to Panama City, FL. My biggest goal in Volleyball is go to the Olympics and play professionally; that would be a dream come true: play for my country and represent my flag.
As I stated earlier, Volleyball is not just a sport, it’s a lifestyle. In addition, I am responsible. My GPA has always been 4.00. I am a leader on and off the court, and I am always looking for ways to improve my game. I am also determined; I don’t give up. I always work hard. I have a good attitude. I am open to suggestions that can make me play better. I know that it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to play at the university level, and I am willing to take the chances to do what it takes to be successful athletically as well as academically. Playing on a high level allows me to grow as a player and to be an inspiration for everyone, but specially for those people who are about to quit or those who are about to give up.
In addition to competing in the Olympics, I would like to be a Neurosurgeon; I have a passion for science. I would like to make a difference in this field, not just another doctor. I will work hard for it. I want to make history, and I will. A scholarship to attend college is vital in helping me achieve these goals. Without a scholarship, college might only be a dream.
