Sydney Zanca '25 Recruiting Profile

My name is Sydney, and volleyball makes me happy! I started playing volleyball when I was 12 years old. I had played tennis at an academy since I was 4, but decided I wanted to play on a team, to experience winning and losing together. I fell in love with volleyball, and my dads have really supported my volleyball and my growth as a student athlete. I love to win, but mostly I love to compete at a high level, and to have fun doing it. To me, there is no better feeling than getting the winning block or kill against a good team! My goal is to play volleyball in college at a competitive program, and to be a part of a supportive, cooperative environment where the team and coaches love and support each other. I understand what it is like to compete and practice at a high level, and how to manage my time between sports and my schoolwork. I like the structure, the challenge and the team atmosphere that goes with it all. I am funny, upbeat, a quick learner and a hard worker, and I think I would make a great addition to any team. Besides volleyball, I love visual arts, music, movies, hanging out with my friends, my dog Winnie and my little sister, Zoe (most of the time!).
