Let’s go! I have been a multi sport student/athlete for 7 years. Volleyball has taught me so many things about myself on and off the court, especially this year. I have learned perseverance, hard work, how essential a growth mindset is and to continue to take advantage of opportunities so I can be successful. I am a true team player. I am part of the team at Marco’s Pizza where I work 2-3 shifts a week-but not on volleyball days.
I predominantly play libero/DS but there have been times when I have been asked to rotate around to play as outside hitter. I have the confidence to do whatever the coach asks me to do. I take advantage of any opportunity to enhance my skills. I have had countless private trainings and have attended many clinics, along with playing school and club volleyball. I have also been working with an excellent speed and agility coach. We also focus on injury prevention.
I am always finding ways to elevate my game. I’ve used a plywood pepper partner, taught my mom some basic skills so she could practice with me, treadmill running almost daily and weight training. I have spent a lot of time training in the sand so I could be faster and smarter on the court. I played 15 sand tournament days since March 2020 and won a bid to the AVP East Coast Championship. I am truly committed to this sport. I also belong to a mindset training group. This has helped me to grow as a player. I am learning to put some of these concepts into practice. Miracle Morning and Energy bus are a few helpful books I have read. I have worked just as hard to achieve my goals of a healthy GPA and taking college courses as a high school student. I continue to volunteer with local youth sports because I think it is very important to learn to be a part of a team. I believe it is also important for kids to be excited about playing a game. I would love for younger kids to fall in love with sport like I have.
I am committed to continuing my growth in this awesome sport along with finding the right school in order to continue being a successful student/athlete. My coaches will attest to my work ethic and dedication to the sport and to the team.
