Before I started playing volleyball, reading was, and still is, my first love. As a kid if I got in trouble my parents took my books away. So, my college aspirations include getting a degree that would help me achieve my dream job as a book editor. In the 5th grade I was introduced to volleyball and it quickly became one of my greatest passions. Since I started playing volleyball I have not only learned the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship, but also the importance of encouragement and being encouraged by your team. What I love most about volleyball and why it is different from other sports is that you need every person and position on the team to play well. It’s like a family. A good culture in a team means more than any win. I think it is extremely important, especially as a setter, to have a good connection with teammates on and off the court. Having fun with teammates that you love is just as important to me as the team’s skill level. I would love more than anything to be able to further my volleyball career while being able to get my degree in college.
