I began Volleyball in 8th grade, starting on a YMCA team, which is a rec league where I learned the basics. I had never been in sports prior to this, but I fell in love with everything about the sport. When Covid hit, I stayed home for months, and daily I would spend hours and hours outside playing volleyball against the wall of my house. When I tried out for my high school team the next year, I made the JV team and learned as much as I could. I have improved exponentially each year I play and I continue to grow as a player and a person within my sport. I have now been on varsity as a starter for 2 years and have joined 3 other sports to continue to build my ability as an athlete. Last year I was named team Captain for my ‘attitude and soul’. I was given the leadership title because of my uplifting personality and my ability to be coachable and encouraging to everyone on the team. I am determined and resilient and show my love through my interactions. I have been told that the ‘energy of the team’ depended on me. Having a great responsibility to continue to grow as a player and push my teammates to grow as well was truly one of the greatest gifts that the sport has taught me. I am an upbeat, fantastic energy on the court, always there for those around me and investing in my teammates. My love for the sport shows when I play and the effort that I show on and off the court, investing in the team and being the absolute best I can be on the court. I am an extremely hard worker, athletic and absolutely love my sport and all that comes along with it. I would be a great addition to your team, as I can fill many roles. I started my volleyball career as an outside hitter, playing my first club team as a middle, right side and outside, depending on what the team needed, and then the next school season, I was a primary DS on Varsity. The next club season I played, I was a setter and a hitter, then when our libero broke her back, I stepped in and was Libero for the season. This year on varsity, I played the back row, and front row, depending on what my team needed. I am very determined to continually improve my skill set, and my skill set continues to become more and more diverse. I would be an asset to your team, on and off the court.
