Volleyball isn't just a sport I play, it's my passion. I work hard to improve my knowledge and skills through hours of practice, studying game footage, and watching college and Olympic games whenever I can. I strive to be the best teammate I can be by supporting my friends no matter what the circumstances are on or off the court, and no matter what the score is. My energy, knowledge, and constant communication make me a natural leader and a positive influence for my team.
While volleyball is my passion, I realize that academics are also very important for my future. Good grades don't always come easily to me. I have to work very hard to maintain a good GPA, but volleyball helps keep me focused. I know there will be consequences if my grades slip, and I refuse to lose time on the court for something that I have complete control of. My other passion in life is my animals, and I hope that through my time in college, I am able to turn this passion into a career. Right now I have aspirations of becoming a small animal veterinarian so that I can care for these creatures that I love so dearly. I currently work part time at a kennel near my house, and it's definitely more fun than it is work.
My ultimate goal is to be able to continue to play volleyball at the most competitive level possible after high school, and to be an asset to the team and the college or university that I have the honor of joining. I have learned many valuable life lessons through this sport, and know that it has been one of the most positive influences in my life. Volleyball changed me from a shy girl with zero self confidence into a confident, motivated, and goal-oriented young woman, and I am so grateful.
