Hello, my name is Keegan Krause and I am currently a Senior at Cass High in White, Ga. I will graduate in May 2020 and currently have a 3.84 GPA with four AP courses on my Senior schedule. I live with my mother Kim, my step father Mark, and my younger brother Kaden. I have a half sister and two nephews in Mississippi as well as 3 step siblings. I was born in Texas and lived there until my Freshman year in high school. We moved to the Cartersville, Georgia area the summer between my Freshman and Sophomore year due to my mom's job transfer.
I started playing volleyball at the age of 8. At first I hated it. My mom encouraged me to play volleyball as she did not rationally support my dream of being a gymnast. She was right, I was over 5' tall at the age of 10. My mom played in college, my aunt played Iowa State Club Volleyball, so in my family playing volleyball is like a right of passage. However, I fell in love with sport and to this day I never miss a chance to play.
In addition to 3 years of high school Varsity experience, I've played on national club travel teams for 4 years and plan to play my 5th year on the 18's team for 575 Volleyball in Woodstock, GA. I have worked hard to be team captain for the past 4 years and strive to be a leader on and off the court. I am also our NHS Secretary for the 2019-2020 school year.
I work very hard to excel academically in tandem with my volleyball training. With Club practices two to three times a week, personal workouts five to seven days a week, all the while keeping my GPA well above a 3.0 has taught me valuable time management skills. I am looking for a school that highly values academics and will set me up well for medical school.
I am a player who is very coachable and constantly works to grow as an athlete and an individual. I always try to radiate positivity. I feel being positive is one of the most important aspects of life, not just in volleyball. You have to believe you can win, believe in and trust your teammates and believe in yourself to achieve your goals.
I am a middle/blocker, outside hitter looking for a program that can help me reach my goals. I am confident my skills, character and attitude will impact your program in a positive way.
I am flexible to play anywhere in the country.
