Growing up, volleyball clubs and teams weren't available to me until 7th grade. Until then, my earliest memories of volleyball were in the yard playing with my mom. I attended the peewee volleyball camp my 5th and 6th grade year that was put on by the high school volleyball players in my school. My 8th grade year is when I started thinking more about playing college volleyball. I then decided to commit to the sport and learn more about college volleyball. Watching the 2019 NCAA Women's College Volleyball Championship between Stanford and Wisconsin is what made my love and determination for volleyball grow. I remember watching the girls and saying how much I would love to be as good as them one day. That was my first goal. Of course it's still a goal I'm working towards today, but when I was little, my dream was to play volleyball for Stanford University. It would still be a dream to play for a college like Stanford, but my dream now is just to play at the collegiate level. I would make a good candidate for colleges because I played 5 different positions on varsity during my sophomore year. I got moved around so much because of my diversity. I think it is so beneficial to be diverse because then I was able to help my team progress in different areas. I am different from other recruits because of my height. I'm very short for volleyball, but I have gained a good vertical to give me somewhat of an advantage when hitting or blocking against taller girls. I am also very fast and light on my feet. Track is my other favorite sport and I do hurdles, short sprints, and pole vault. All of these require me to have good foot work and lots of concentration. My favorite part of volleyball is getting critiques and feedback because it helps me gain knowledge and become a better player. Sports are a big part of my life and I love putting lots of effort and time towards them. I am very athletic and hardworking, which makes me improve significantly. In academics, I am more street smart, but I am also book smart at the same time. I love being outdoors and so I have good survival instincts as well as common knowledge. I also love going to school and learning new things. Psychology was diffidently my favorite class, and I would like to continue with that major in college as well as a minor in sociology. I also enjoy writing paragraphs and essays in my English classes. Overall, I am a very coachable, hardworking, diverse, and determined athlete that is looking for the right college to play for.
