One of the reasons I love volleyball is because it's a high paced outlet for my competitive nature. I've always been highly competitive and in volleyball you must compete for every point. I've always been an athlete but in middle school my interests shifted from basketball to volleyball, when I found what fit me and my mindset best.
Another thing I love about this sport is the friends it has brought me. Being part of a team is like having a second family. I've met most of my closest friends through highschool volleyball and its due to the irreplaceable bond you make with teammates.
Although I've been involved with both club and school sports since 7th grade, I've kept my academics as number one priority. I've maintained a 4.0 unweighted GPA while taking difficult Honors and AP classes such as: AP Biology, AP Chemistry, College Literature, College Composition, Calculus, and AP Statistics.
Volleyball has made me who I am. It has shaped me into a leader, a reliable teammate, a hardworker, and has allowed me to witness the sheer bliss of success that comes from never giving up.
