My future plans are to attend college and major in a degree that I will be successful at and enjoy doing. In school, I am a strong student enrolled in college prep classes who consistently gets good grades and welcomes challenges. I am looking to play for a college or university that meets both my academic and athletic goals.
On the volleyball court, I am an excellent team player and I understand that each person on the court plays a particular role, but that playing together as a team is what makes the difference between winning and losing. I am an outside hitter for my club and high school teams, but am also considered one of my team’s defensive specialists and best servers.
I have learned through training and experience that mental toughness and court smarts is equally as important as the physical aspects of the game. Whenever the team is down or someone makes a mistake, I make sure to use words of encouragement while constructively criticizing what we need to do to get through the next point. I personally focus on having a positive attitude when mistakes are made on the court, whether I make the mistake or my teammate does. I am looked up to as a leader on my team and am proud that my team considers me one of their team leaders.
I am known for my consistency and all-around play on the court. I am also even-tempered on the court and do not get rattled easily. I have a competitive nature, as my coaches and parents would all tell you. Playing a well balanced game is important but the ultimate goal is to win matches.
