Being a varsity starter as a freshman was tough, but I knew that my work ethic would make it work. Freshman and Sophomore seasons were very exciting ones, considering we won sectionals and regionals both years. We won the conference title freshman season, but failed to defend the title the next year. This made me realize that I needed to re-collect myself and make sure that the team always comes first. This led me to the realization that this is what was best if I wanted to become a good DS/L at the college level.
So far, I have had a great experience in my high school and club volleyball seasons! I have learned what it takes to be a leader and to be successful. Through playing volleyball, I have learned that I can do anything I set my mind to. I also use this mentality when it comes to academics. I believe that in order to be successful, you have to take matters into your own hands and work for what you want. If you are given useful resources, you should use them to the best of your abilities. I have noticed that if I sat around and waited for things to be handed to me, I would still be waiting and would still have to wait for a long time. I believe that I have what it takes to be a successful college student-athlete on your team!
