When I was in 5th grade my parents took me to my first college volleyball game. I had been playing volleyball for about 2 years and didn’t know there was much outside of club ball. When I went to the match, I sat down and instantly fell in love with the game 100 times more. Sitting and watching the talent in front of me was amazing. I knew right then and there I wanted to play volleyball when I was older. As I have gotten older I have had way more exposure to great coaches, players and teams and I keep getting better.
School has always been my number one priority, and my parents have always taught me that other than family, school comes first. Before anything else, school has always been the one thing I work hardest at. I am a straight A student and I like to help others around me as much as I can. Surprisingly, I like going to school and learning new things because it makes me a better person. Besides being loyal to those around me I am also very smart, motivated and hardworking. When I am motivated to complete something I do it and get it done. Whatever I put my mind to, I put 110% more effort into than the next person. I work extremely hard for what I want and strive to be the best person in the room or on the court, both physically and mentally. When I am with my team I always try to keep people positive and motivated. I lead my team with energy and great sportsmanship. When I'm on the court and sidelines I am the loudest one. I am extremely competitive at everything, from the smallest things such as beating my sister at Uno, to winning club tournament championships. I work very well with others and over the years I have become more open and outgoing to others which has helped me form strong relationships with friends, family, teammates and coaches.
With anything I want to do such as playing volleyball, getting good grades, meeting new people and working to get more knowledge in medical science, I have always told myself to be the best I can possibly be. I have also learned from my parents that if you want something you can’t just wait for it to happen, you have to work hard to earn it. In volleyball my main goal is to get better and be a sponge. Meaning, I will soak up all the correct and accurate information that is given to me. I would also like to get stronger in every aspect of volleyball (passing, hitting, setting, serving) so I can be a well rounded player. I would love the opportunity to play college volleyball. When I am looking for a school to play for I am looking not only for comfort of the volleyball program but also academic support. I would like a school that fits right with who I am and what I want to study. When not playing volleyball, I plan to study medical science. I am not sure which occupation I want to go into, but it has to be something that deals with the human body and how I can help others. Ever since I started playing volleyball I have loved the sport and will always love it. Stepping onto the court takes away all my stress and I am zoned in and ready to win.
