Ann Scott-Kemmis '17 Recruiting Profile

I started playing volleyball at the age of 12, initially,  I tried out for the volleyball team because I thought the uniforms were really nice and I wanted an outfit! However, as I started playing I couldn't get enough. I loved the sport. Usually, I get bored of the activities I signed myself up for but that was not the case with volleyball. As I got older I started I realised that I really wanted to continue to play for as long as I could. It was because every time I played this sport, I always seemed to allow me to have a clear mind, it really was a stress relief for me. Starting the international baccalaureate diploma recently, stress really builds up because the education system is tough and challenging. Having volleyball there really allowed me to continue to stay balanced whilst also being able to work hard in school. 

I also think, being on a sports team allows you to really build a different kind of friendship as they have the same or similar goals as you and understand what you have to go through on a day to day basis.
