Personal Statement
I am currently the second youngest women's player at the Australian Institute of Sports in the Australian Volleyball Academy program. I graduated in December 2022, ready for the Fall 2023 season to start.
It is through personal sacrifice that I have achieved growth in my self-belief and determination, making me a tough competitor who knows what it takes physically and mentally to win. I left my family at 15 years old and went 2300 miles to the other side of Australian to the Australian Institute of Sports in Canberra. A 5 1/2 hour flight from Perth and my family. I have managed being a full-time student and athletic. Through applying time management skills and strict planning of my day. I am committed to my studies and growth as an athlete.
I find myself in an environment that goes beyond anything I imagined when I accepted the offer to join this team. I train with some of the country’s best beach and indoor players who are in the Australian Volleyball academy. Our squad includes both women and men, aged 16-25, with only 6 high school students and several members from the Volleyroos- the Australian National team. It truly has been an awesome experience thus far and feel proud to have been selected to represent Australia playing the sport I love.
I have lived the importance of team unity, with my team becoming my family. Success to me is about working as a team with all staff and players supporting each other on and off the court, enabling the highest level of success through winning.
