Personal Statement

Hi! My name is Sonia. Volleyball has always been my passion, starting from playing with my sister in our garage in 2nd grade to joining my first club in 4th grade. By 5th grade, I was on my school's middle school team and won my first tournament. In 7th grade, I was invited to join the Girl's Varsity Volleyball team, an opportunity I learned to never pass up again after the pandemic.

My dedication and hard work have built my reputation from school to city level. In the summer of 2022, I participated in a volleyball internship with national coaches, an experience that pushed me to excel further. Balancing academics and athletics has taught me resilience and time management, skills I bring to every aspect of my life.

Being able to play volleyball in college has always been a dream I didn't think was possible. I am excited to bring my skills and positive energy to grow as an athlete and contribute to the team's success.
