Personal Statement
Hi! I’m a brazilian student and volleyball player, so in my country things work different than in the america. My dream was always to study abroad, and as I am an athlete, I figure that I could put both things in my life. I play volleyball since I was 9 years old, and with 11 I started to play in clubs ( in Brazil that’s the best thing). So I started to stand out, and got called to be part of the state team. Unfortunately I was between the 14 girls, but not the 12 that were going to the competition. I also wan 2 prizes of best libero, one of the state and another of the region I played. I have played a lot of championships, in my region, state, and nationals too. In the nationals our team got placed in 3rd.
I believe that I am a very good candidate for any team because I am persistent, I like to practice in my 100% and I think I can get better more and more with the right help! I like to help my friends in the team when they are not doing their best, and I take volleyball seriously!
Academically I have always been one of the best in my class, I love to study and learn, and I believe that education is the only thing that really belong to us. I speak fluent English, I speak Libras ( which is the brazilian language of deaf) and I’m learning French now. I also did volunteer work in a NGO, to help street animals.
In college I desire to become a better person and be able to develop my volleyball skills and my academic skills as well!
