Personal Statement
My name is Natalia Jiménez, I was born on July 1st, 2002 in Mexico City. I’m the oldest of three children. Since I was a kid, I've been dedicated and active in academics, athletics and culture. I love to stand out in all aspects that are the reason why I always give the best of myself every time and in every event I had the chance to participate in I proved it.
I consider myself an honest, emphatic, dedicated, strong, passionate, and confident person, that has areas of improvement, in which I have been constantly working. Also, I'm a social person, I adapt easily to new environments. I enjoy meeting and getting to know new people and learning different languages and cultures.
I participated in different activities such as academic, athletic, cultural, and social activities. Each one of these experiences, regardless of the result, positive or negative, has provided me with an apprenticeship that has allowed me to grow and develop skills. In other words, they have helped me to become the person I am.
"Things go through something" and "God's times are perfect", are phrases that my mom told me once. She's the woman I admire the most, for me, she is a great example to follow. She taught me to fight for what I want and not give up as hard as the situation may seem. Last year I had a serious injury and lost someone special. It was the year I was doing my process to go to college in the USA. For a while, I was demotivated, but thanks to her I managed to get ahead. I decided to think and act positively. I decided to begin my studies in my country and keep working on my academic, social, and sports skill, so I could make my way to great opportunities.
I’m currently 20 years old. I am a sophomore at Tecnológico de Monterrey CCM in the major of engineering of biotechnology. I'm looking forward to transferring to a college in the United States because I want to grow in all aspects of my life, athletically and academically speaking I'm stagnating and I know I can give more. As a student-athlete, I have the experience of carrying both parts in a balanced way and also excelling in both fields. I've learned to be organized and prioritize my activities.
