Personal Statement
I was born and raised on a small island called Cyprus located in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea and of approximately 1M residents. I attend high-school at a public Lyceum in Limassol.
I started playing volleyball since i was 9 years old at the volleyball academy of ''AEL''. Before that, I did ballet and swimming. By the age of 11, I became a member of the U14 team of ''AEL'' playing as an outside hitter. At the age of 12 I played as a starting line-up outside hitter for the U14. That year we won the 2nd place in the U14 National Championship. When I turned 15, I started training with and became a member of the Women's Team of ''AEL'' and I played as a starting line-up player for the U18, U16 and U14. That same year we won the 2nd place in the Division 1 National Cup. Being a participant in four championships as well as training hard on a daily basis, has taught me to be disciplined and dedicated, to be gracious in defeat and humble in success.
At the age of 15, I managed to play as a starting line-up player, as an outside hitter in Division 1 Women's Team. We did quite well as we finished in 4th place. We also won 2nd place in U16 National Championship.
In October 2017, I was called to the U19 National Team trials. I managed to make the team and in January 2018, I participated in my first International games, the 2018 CEV U19 volleyball European Championship Women, in Ukraine where I played as a starting line-up outside hitter. Unfortunately we didn't qualify for the next phase.
Since 2015, we have won 1st place in the school championships three times in a row where I played as a starting line-up outside hitter. We also participated in ISF World School Championship 2018 which took place in Brno and we finished 16th. In addition we participated in Panhellenic Games where we took 3rd place.
This year I have changed clubs and I am currently a player for Anorthosis, a Division 1 volleyball team, which last year won the National Championship.
I started playing beach volleyball at the age of 13. I won 1st place in Division 1 women's Beach Volleyball Championship in July 2018 2 times. I have also participated as a player for the Cyprus National Team at the CEV Satellite 2017 and at the Youth Olympics qualifications which took place in Larnaca Cyprus. In July 2018, I participated at the SCD Zonal Event in Limassol and we got the 5th place. Moreover, I played in 2018 European Championship U18 in Brno and we finished at the 18th place.
