Personal Statement
When I started playing volleyball I knew I had found what was going to become the fundamental pillar of my life, and I’m glad to say that now it is. To be honest, when I was little I used to hate volleyball as my mum and my dad were both professional players and used to spend whole days at the gym and afar from my brother and I. However, as soon as I began to play, volleyball became an addiction. I started to train assiduously and, moving up to a higher category every year, I am finally starting to see that successful athlete’s life as something more than just a dream. I think my most important trait as a volleyball player comes from what I would consider as the most challenging experience I have lived during my career: two years ago I developed an overtraining syndrome due to the fact that even though I put so much effort into volleyball I found myself stuck into a stalemate situation; I quit volleyball for a few months but with time passing by I realised that I had let my desperate desire to emerge overcome my love and passion for this sport. Now I play with a new consciousness, a new purpose and a renovated passion, all factors that allow me to deal with any challenge placed before me. I'm ready to go.
