Personal Statement
I have been an athlete since I was 4. I swam competitively for 10 years of my life but I never saw myself progressing. I started volleyball in grade 6 and ended up really enjoying it. I knew from there that is what I want to do. I moved to Singapore in 2019 still swimming but soon realized at the end of grade 8 that swimming is not for me, it was too individual. I wanted something where I could have a team full of support and competing wasn't just for myself but it was for others as well. I didn't want to compete against my teammates I wanted to compete with them. Volleyball brings out the best qualities in me and is something I love to do. Having to do exams it's hard for any student to find free time in their day to have these activities and then study, but I always tell my friends to find an activity that is their free time like volleyball is to me it's my way of letting everything go and doing something I love. I see myself being a good team asset and progressing further in this sport.
