Hi I am Isabelle Vacek. My freshman and sophomore years have been huge milestones in my volleyball career. I was the only freshman playing on the Varsity, and continue to start as a middle hitter for Ankeny High School. During my freshman year, I was the number one blocker on our team and the third best blocker in the CIML conference. This year I’m still leading in blocks on the team and have become the second best blocker in the CIML conference. My team had a share of the conference title, qualified for state and made it to the semi-finals last year which was an amazing experience. My freshman year I was nominated in all conference honorable mention. My sophomore year I made first team all conference. This year, my junior year, I am advancing my skills but playing middle, right side, and backrow.
I love volleyball and my passion shows through hard work, encouraging others verbally, showing enthusiasm, leading by example and delivering results. I think these factors are contagious and bring out the best in a team. I lift everyday during school and during the summer. I am a two sport varsity athlete in volleyball and basketball. I also play club volleyball for IPVA. I have played outside, middle and right side hitting as well as some backrow.
When I am not playing volleyball or at practice, I attend church and youth group. I am a part of the Junkyard at Prairie Ridge Church and have met some of my best friends there. I love dogs and have two of them: Violet and Georgie. I enjoy swimming, being outside, and playing cards with my older sister and younger brother.
I am determined to play volleyball at the collegiate level. This is my goal and I will continue to work hard everyday on and off the court to make this dream come true.
