Sophie McMullen '18 Recruiting Profile

My name is Sophie McMullen and I have successfully and effectively played EVERY position on the court, however I have been utilized as an OH and Setter most often. I participated in the 2015 AVCA Phenom College Prep Program and achieved a 519.4 VPI score!

Playing for a 4A-D1 school in Kansas, I earned the starting 5-1 Varsity setter position as a freshman and played a vital role leading my team to State, finishing fourth. Last year, as a Sophomore, I led my team to an undefeated league season and a third place State finish. I finished my year with 107 sets played, 996 assists, 82 aces, 93 blocks, 246 digs and 93 kills placing me overall 2nd in both assists and aces in 4A-D1. Across the state of Kansas, in all classes, I ranked 7th in assists. This year my team made it to the substate championship match where I both set and hit outside in a modified 6-2 offense and was named to the All-Frontier-League First Team!

This winter will be my seventh year playing club volleyball, most recently setting for two top-level clubs in my area and earning multiple bids to Nationals. I am an extremely diverse, dynamic, skilled, resilient and passionate player. Each and every time I step on the court, I know it is a true privilege to play this great sport! I am confident that I will add value to any team that provides me the opportunity to perform.
