After I started playing volleyball at 12 years old, I knew from the start that volleyball was the sport for me. When I was in 7th grade I decided to join a club team, ever since then I have fallen in love with volleyball more and more. I was very quiet and shy as a kid and volleyball taught me to be more outgoing and to be more of a leader on and off the court. Because of this sport I have become the person that I am today and without it I wouldn't have the self confidence that I have today. Being in a team sport, volleyball has taught me how to work with other people to accomplish a goal. In addition to volleyball I played softball when I was younger, and horseback riding in middle school. Ultimately I decided to stick with volleyball and put all my focus on the sport.
Not only do I spend a lot of my time working hard for volleyball, I also enjoy helping out at my church. Every year I do multiple events like working with our 5th grade youth group. I also help with an inner city school program called Bless this School. I also have worked with other charities like My Grandfathers House, Harvesters, and Backpacking For Kids. At school I am involved with Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
