My name is Ellie Orchelle,(Eleanor Middleton-Orchelle) 2021 Grad from Petersburg, KY, which is located near Cincinnati, OH in Northern Kentucky. I attend St Henry District High School in Erlanger KY. I played volleyball on Varsity my freshman and sophomore season as OH and DS. I am #5 . I played all around my sophomore season. The most exciting moment last year was 9th Region championship against Notre Dame Academy. The crowd, the intensity on the court, and everything came together going 5 sets we won our opportunity to state! I love playing games that challenge me and all the work over the years shows up on the court.
The game of volleyball has been my passion and my outlet for the past 6 years. In 2012, my dad passed away. It was a really difficult time in my life. I have had a lot of support from mom, grandparents and my stepdad to get through the good and bad times.Volleyball is a great outlet. Volleyball brought my stepdad and I closer. He encouraged me, made sure I had the best training, took me to every practice and tryout from day one. Bryan and my mom make it possible for me to have the opportunity to play the sport I love over the years.
Now that I am going into my junior year my goals for high school is to maintain good grades. I volunteer at my high school coaching younger children learning the game of volleyball.
My future career goals at this time is to explore the field of nursing and/ or psychology. My goal is to play varsity throughout my high school career. I want to contribute to building my school’s volleyball program. I also want to continue build my leadership skills as well as improve my skills on and off the court.
My strengths that I believe I have as a player includes my diversity as an all around player on the court. I’m always focused on team first. My game IQ stands out on the court and ability to perform under pressure. I’m hardworking and motivated to reach my ultimate goal to play competitive volleyball during college. I love to be challenged by my coaches and my teammates it pushes me to improve my game and leadership skills. I look forward to finding the right college for my career goals, Coach that supports my goals, and the opportunity to continue to play the volleyball at the highest level.
Thank you for taking the time to read my statement.
