Leah Metzger '19 Recruiting Profile

Hello! My name is Leah Metzger and I love volleyball. I play club volleyball for Tri-State Elite, school volleyball for Dixie Heights High School, and am a member of TEAM USA's High Performance Pipeline. I have earned Five Varsity Letters thus far and am a Junior.

I am a six rotational player that is comfortable playing anywhere. I play Libero during club, OH and Setter while at high school, and Libero for TEAM USA.

As a 7th grader I was named the 2013 Offensive Player of the Year for the Varsity Volleyball team at Dixie Heights High School, where I led the team in Kills, HP, KP, Aces, and was 2nd in Blocks. I was also name to the 2013 KHSAA 34th District All-Tournament Team, and nominated to the 2013 NKGVCA Division 1 All-Opponent team.

As an 8th Grader I was named Team Captain by a class of 10 seniors at Dixie Heights High School. I led the team in Kills, KP HP and Aces before switching to the role of Setter and running a 5-1 at the end of the year. I earned the "ONE" Award (MVP), 2014 Cincinnati Enquirer Fall NKY All-Star Team - 2nd Team, and NKGVCA Division 1 All-Opponent Team - 2nd Team.

As a Freshman I was Team Captain for Dixie Heights High School and played OH/DS. I led the team in KP, Digs and Aces, and was 2nd in Kills. I earned Defensive Player Of the Year,  KHSAA Academic All-State, and NKGVCA Division 1 All-Opponent Team.

As a Sophomore I was Team Captain for Dixie Heights High School and played OH/DS. I led the team in Digs and passing percentage. I earned Defensive Player Of the Year,  KHSAA Academic All-State, and NKGVCA Division 1 All-Opponent Team. 2016 KHSAA 34th District All-Tournament Team, 2016 Cincinnati Enquirer Fall NKY All-Star Team - HM.

As a Junior I was named Team Captain for Dixie Heights High School and played OH/DS. My team finished 20 - 9, which was the best in the last 25 years. I earned Defensive Player Of the Year,  KHSAA Academic All-State, 2016 Cincinnati Enquirer Fall NKY All-Star Team - 1st Team, and NKGVCA Division 1 All-Opponent Team, 2nd Team. I led the team in Digs, Passing, Aces, and was 2nd in Kills. I had a 2.55 passing rating for the season.

I am a member of the USAV High Performance Program and was selected as a member of the 2016 USA HP Youth A1 National Team, Libero. I attended the 2015 USA HP Championships as a member of the 2015 USA HP Select Continental Red Team, Libero, the 2014 USA HP Championships as a member of the 2014 USA Select A1 White National Team, Outside Hitter, the 2013 Future Select National Team Camp in Edmond, OK as an Outside Hitter, and the 2015 USA HP Youth National Team Prospect Training Block at the American Sports Center in Anaheim, California as a Libero. 2013 & 2014 USA HP Select Division Holiday Camp at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO as an Outside Hitter.

In the classroom I am a straight A student, a member of the National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, National Junior Honor Society, 2015, 2016, and 2017 KHSAA Academic All-State First Team, and Deans List.  My goal is to earn a degree in Pre-Medicine,  while playing volleyball at the collegiate level.
