Goals and Aspirations
One of my goals has always been to be a successful student athlete in college. I have dreamt of playing volleyball at the collegiate level ever since I had started playing, but my parents are the ones who had the most influential impact on me. They started taking me to college volleyball games, and I was so amazed and impressed with how they played, and once I watched them, that's when I knew I wanted to be just like them and play at the collegiate level. Education-wise, I want to go into marketing, and I believe volleyball will not only benefit my athletic aspirations, but also further my academic pursuits..
What makes you a good candidate for their team ?
I believe that to play a team sport, certain athletes need to possess a leadership type role, but also everyone needs to develop a sense of dependency and teamwork, so the team can function as one. I, being the setter, already have these qualities. The setter should be the leader on the floor, taking her team under her wing, and being responsible for what happens on the court. Volleyball is definitely one of the most unselfish sports, which leads you to rely on your teammates to get their jobs done. Ultimately, I already possess leadership roles because I have learned throughout playing that if the setter isn't a leader on the team, then there's no sense of structure. Also, I am definitely a team player because I have sacrificed my role as a setter, to play libero and right side for part of my freshman year of high school.
WHAT MAKES YOU DIFFERENT FROM OTHER RECRUITS IN CHARACTER, ATHLETICS, AND ACADEMICS ?
I strive to have the best moral conducts and character on and off the field, I don't want people to just recognize me for my athletic abilities, but I want them to notice my moralities and that I'm a genuinely good person. I also strive to have the best grades because my education is very important to me, and I am driven to be the best setter of my ability, which requires tremendous effort. Ultimately, I want to be a well rounded person, and whatever I do, I'm going to make sure that I perform to the best of my ability. Why just settle to be average, when you can be great ?
