I am Shelby Tirbs and have been playing volleyball for 8 years, 7 of which have been club. I will be entering my Sr. year of high school and 4th year of starting on my varsity volleyball team in 2021, at Shelby County High School, in Shelbyville Kentucky. I ended my year with a 3.7 GPA . I play club volleyball at MAVA (Mid America Volleyball Association). I wear number 8 as a 5’8 6 rotation middle hitter. I am trained in hitting both left and right side as well as serving and DS.
My first year at MAVA I played on a team going by the name of 14 Gardner, my teammates and I earned 7 gold medals and 1 silver. The following season I continued on with the same group of girls to the team, 15 Gardner. This team earned 3 first place gold medals, a gold runner up in the President's day classic in St. Louis, and 1 silver medal. In 2020 I played for Mava 16 select the top travel team for Mava, in our short season we earned two gold medals! My 17 team I was coached by Dan Palmer and Jasmine Bennett, a former all ACC middle hitter for Louisville and played with a very talented team! Also during the summer of 2020 and 2021 I started weekly intensive training with Dan Palmer and Anna Palmer, at Mid America Volleyball in Louisville to help become a better player. I am currently playing on 18 Mava Select , Mava’s top travel team . I plan on studying physical therapy and sports medicine / training in college. I am hoping to use my skills and training to help further my education and hopefully to be part of a great team and continue to play the sport that I love while getting my education . Shelby Tirbs
