My freshman year of high school I transferred to a big 5A public school from a small 1A private school. I tried out for the volleyball team hoping I would get a shot just to play on the Freshman team. When my name was called to be on the varsity team and to be in the starting rotation I was elated. Volleyball pulls me out of my comfort zone. On the court I am competitive and loud. It creates a hunger in me to want to get better every time I put on my knee pads. The team goal for our high school season was to win state. We lost in the quarter-finals but I learned so much about the value of teamwork, commitment and sacrifice.
I am looking for a program that will fit my academic goals as well as my athletic goals. I believe I not only have the talent to compete for a college team but the work ethic to make an immediate impact in a collegiate program. As a two sport athlete I know what it takes to be coached hard and translating that into my athletic performance.
