Summer Barnes '23 Recruiting Profile

Hi! My name is Summer Barnes from Manitoba, Canada. I’m a libero who also plays as a setter and am always eager to learn. I’m graduating in 2023, but I am also open to taking a gap year and playing in 2024, due to my late birthday.

I always work my hardest and give 110% effort in  anything I do, whether it’s in volleyball, school or any other sports. I always strive to be the hardest worker in the room, and bring positive and fun energy.

I try to stay as involved in the game as possible. I’ve taken stats for teammates, I have also started to ref freshman volleyball games at my high school. I enjoy learning as much as possible! 

In terms of academics, I also love to learn. Ive taken classes from many different fields to broaden my horizon and to learn as much as I can. I love to learn and always do my best. I‘ve also been a part of the french immersion program at school since kindergarten, meaning I’m fully bilingual and take my classes both in french and english. This has allowed me to learn so much more about the world and I appreciate the opportunity!
