I started playing volleyball when I was 10 years old. My dad started a youth program at my school for my friends and I. I developed a real love for the sport and have continued to find every opportunity to play and enhance my skills. When my dad started coaching high school volleyball, I loved when I got to play with the older, more skilled players. As my freshman year rolled around, I was able to secure a starting position as a setter and right side hitter on the varsity team. Midway through the season I became the full-time setter for our team and was also named 1st team all conference. As the setter and leader of my team, it is my responsibility to continue to grow and be the best player for my teammates and I constantly look for opportunities to improve. The volleyball court has always been my "happy place" and when I play, I am all in.
It has always been my dream to attend college and be able to play volleyball while earning my degree. In the classroom, I am an honor student and also strive to do my best. I know my future relies on the choices and sacrifices I make in the next couple of years. I feel my experiences have prepared me to make a smooth transition to college classes and athletics. I am excited about the challenges to grow as a student athlete and I look forward to continue playing volleyball while I work toward my college degree and career goals.
