Hi Coaches,
My name is Alia Mastromatteo, I have been the starting setter for the Portage Northern varsity team since my freshman year. I led my team in assists and serving aces both my freshman and sophomore seasons. I play club ball at Dead Frog in Portage, Michigan. I have been on the National team the last four years where we play the toughest competition in order to grow and improve. I play up an age level every other season as the starting setter.
I grew up with two older brothers and learned at a young age to be a fierce competitor. I may not be a 6 foot setter but I am athletic, quick on my feet, have great court sense and am a solid defender due to continued work and competitive beach volleyball.
My goal is to continue to play volleyball at a college that is a good fit both academically and competitively. I am a positive influence to my teammates while keeping them highly motivated. My belief is to never give up and always put in 100%. I am always challenging myself to become a better person both on and off the court.
Thank you for your time.
Alia
