Kaya Garrett '22 Recruiting Profile

I am Kaya Garrett, class of 2022 and play as a 6-rotation, Outside Hitter.  I take pride in being a leader and an advocate for the team. 

I started playing volleyball in 7th grade for fun. Within two years I sat on the Varsity bench. Being a quick learner and always having the desire to win gives me the competitive edge. I have been playing volleyball for 5 years  and can be very knowledgeable when it comes to the game. The dedication and hard work I put in before and after every practice is shown through my skills and attitude at every event.   I find joy in the process of learning and becoming a stronger athlete mentally and physically.

As a utility player I can play any position on the court. I set goals for myself starting from the technique in passing to the placement of the ball for a kill and will work my way to reaching them.  I always ask questions looking for feedback I can apply to help improve my game.  I have been honored to enhance  my performance by a versatile line up of coaches which includes, one of the best in the nation, an All American First-team, Division One middle blocker. She has helped me become the person I am today on and off the court. I look forward to joining a competitive team that encourages individual growth to achieve team goals.
