Ellie Friedrichs '26 Recruiting Profile

Hello! My name is Ellie friedrichs and I am a 2026 6 rotation OH1/DS, I also serve receive 6 rotations, for Vital 17-1 Gold #12 in Eden Prairie, MN. Our team competes in the Open Division and last year we earned a bid and went to USAV Nationals in Las Vegas, ranked #1 in MN and #107 nationally.

I join Vital, an up-and-coming club in the Minneapolis Metro, for my 15s when I was asked to be a part of a flagship team because I knew I wanted to play in college and I wanted to compete in open against the best in the nation. It was a great decision, we have had great success and my coaches and teammates are like family. I’m hoping to find a college team where I can help my team and spend 4 years building the same kind of great relationships.

For high school I’m a 4-year 6 rotation OH starter and 2-year captain and have played against many D1 commits in MN’s top AAAA Lake Conference. This year I earned All-Conference, team MVP, Most Hustle, and led my team in kills (383), Digs (313), Aces (51), and serve receptions and passing rate (583, 2.24/3). right now my passing rate for club is 2.4.

As a player I am very competitive and well-rounded, a good leader and talker, tough under pressure, and though undersized at 5’9” for an OH, I'm fast and swing hard and find ways to score. My serve receive is also a really strong part of my game so I’m looking to get recruited as either OH or DS at the D1 or D2 level.

Academically I am interested in criminology, law, and national security studies. I have a 3.7 GPA and getting ready to take the ACT. I’m open to attending both public and private college but I’m hoping for one with at least 2,000 students, but mainly I want to find the right fit that I can stay 4 years.

Our team will be at several national qualifiers and NIT Triple Crown this year and I plan to do combines before all of them.
