Personal Statement

Hello my name is Kenzie Allen and I am from Fairfield High School. I attended Simms High School from 5th grade to my sophomore year and then decided to transfer to Fairfield, and because of the 90 rule that prevented me from playing at the varsity level I had to play a season on JV my junior year. I am a 6'0" senior and my positions are a setter and both an outside and middle hitter. My goals are to compete in volleyball at the college level, as well as obtain a degree that will allow me to have a successful future. I believe that I would be a good candidate for this kind of position because I want to strengthen myself and my skills along with my teammates around me. Throughout my high school career I have always tried to involve and push my teammates, and in return I want them to challenge me as well. Relationships and bonds with my teammates have always been the most important part of any sport to me and I believe that is one of many things that set me apart and make me different. Forming these connections has allowed the teams I've played on to be so good and "dangerous" as we have been discribed. An example of this in volleyball would be my job as a setter. I study and watch film not just on opponents, but my team as well. I look for strengths/weaknesses in each teammate and incorperate than into my position as a setter to get the best possible outcomes for the whole team. I have been told that sometimes I do focus to much on my team and not the opportunites that I could have. It's the most amazing feeling knowing that your team is right there with you no matter what happens. Whether its cheering in your face after an amazing kills, dig, block, etc. Or even a smack on the butt if a mistake is made. I will always play for my team and if you can get a whole group to do that amazing things will happen.
