My name is Elizabeth (Liz) Rosenberg!
I've been playing volleyball for 6 years as of now. I picked up a volleyball one day in 7th grade and fell in love. From having little to no experience by just playing rec ball (NYS) in 7th and 8th grade with a few girls, to trying out for the volleyball team my freshman year and making Junior Varsity, and freshman year winning the JV championship, but not having a big spot on the court during games. For my Sophomore year, I decided to stay on Junior Varsity to get a chance to start and shine and that is what I did, we went undefeated and won the JV championship for the second year in a row. My junior year, I made Varsity, and played every match, and we went to all the way the second round of playoffs. For my senior year on Varsity, my team and I had major accomplishments and reached all of our goals as a team, we made it past the 2nd round of playoffs (the furthest my high school women's volleyball program has ever been in history) to the Sunrise regional playoff game, where we barely lost to the current state champions as of this year. I also made 2nd team all conference as a senior.
For club, my freshman year i was on 15s non-travel and had a very successful season, where I played OH & MB. My sophomore year I played 16s travel, where I was my teams captain, and played MB. We traveled to Texas, Denver, and Arizona where we were very successful as well. My junior year I tried a club I never heard of that my old teammate recommended to me, called CSA. I had no knowledge on the coaches or players or what I was in for, I just showed up to tryouts and as a junior I made the 18s travel team! Every other week we traveled to California to compete in tournaments, in Anaheim, and in San Diego and Los Angeles. we also traveled all the way to Kansas City, Missouri for a larger tournament where we were very victorious as well. For my senior year I have made the decision to play for LVV, on the 18s travel team.
Besides being extremely successful in volleyball in high school, I also do outstanding in the classroom as well. My GPA throughout high school has never been lower then a 3.0. I have almost perfect attendance(just missing for tournaments and a few sicknesses). I have all my high school credits as a senior and just taking a few extra classes to keep my GPA high. After I graduate I want to attend college and major in communications or psychology and become a side-line sport reporter or a Psycholgist.
Being an exemplary student, on the court I play a large role with the emotion and feel of the game. I am very loud and outgoing and I am always positive and execute the ball every play to the best of my ability, no matter the score. What makes me different is, you'll NEVER see me down on myself during a game. The key to success in my mind is staying positive and playing the game that I know, and that has made me very successful these past 4 years.
