I started playing volleyball with NYS while I was young and it stuck. Although it is a small league, it was important to me. I took the game seriously, and I still do, but I have an easy going personality that helped me succeed in playing on the court as well. I believe that as we should be competitive, we should remember to have fun and that is what I love about the game. I can enjoy playing, but take a strong lead with my team as well. Over the years, I have experienced losses, and although they are tough to take in, it is a great learning experience. The club I play for at the moment has given me many feelings of loss and self-blame, but after going through the losses with my team, I am reminded that we win altogether and lose altogether. I love how volleyball is a group effort. Not one person is the star, each teammate makes up a point to create a whole star, and we push each other up to get better. It is important to me to work with other women that want to help one another out. I know I could bring a good work ethic to a college volleyball team. I used to struggle with juggling school, volleyball, and social life, but I have been working at organizing my priorities. I would enjoy finding the right school for me; where I can show my best both academic and athletic self.
