My name is Sophia Diana Rendo. I am a Sophomore at the Academy of the Holy Angels in Demarest, New Jersey. I have played volleyball since the six grade. Last year I played for the Essex Volleyball Club 15U team as the starting setter and team captain. This year I tried out and was selected to play for the Capitals Volleyball Club 16U-2 National team as their setter. I am also the starting setter and team captain for the Academy of the Holy Angels Junior Varsity team. I am 5'8" and 115lbs, left hand dominant setter. I aim to be precise with my sets to give my hitters the best opportunity to score. Academics are very important to me. I was on the honor roll in middle school and in the high school my GPA is 3.8. I am in Italian honors. My mother was born in the United States and is half Cuban and half Italian and my father is Cuban born, I love my brothers, Christian, age 22 a student at Rutgers University-Newark and Daniel, age 21, a student at Clemson University. I was raised in a bi-lingual household. I love math and science but I am undecided on my course of study for college. I am looking for a culturally enriching and educationally challenging experience in college. In my spare time I like to travel, bake, read books, and spend time with family and friends.
