Going from playing multiple sports per year to focusing on volleyball all year round has made me appreciate the beauty of the sport. My passion for volleyball increases every time I touch a ball. I love the sport because it is fast-paced and is truly a team sport. The setter position suits me very well as you have so many chances to help the team. Taking passes and turning them into great sets for the hitter feels very accomplishing knowing that I am doing my very best for the team. There are also times where I can help turn an “off” pass into an exceptional set, help with a block, or add to the team’s energy. These are the times where I enjoy pushing myself to my limits and increasing the team’s chances of winning close matches.
Some positive attributes that people mention about me are reflexes, physical strength, positive attitude, and competitiveness. Staying in shape and keeping a good relationship with the team always helps when creating a better play. The chemistry that is amongst teammates, especially in the setter position, is the key to success.
My ideal school strikes a balance between athletics and academic excellence and has an outgoing and friendly student population.
I realize I may have started late when looking to advance my life with volleyball, but I am dedicated and focused on this sport and the competition.
