Hello,
My name is Drew Leonardis and I'm a Defensive Specialist from New Jersey. I'm currently enrolled at Hudson Catholic Regional High School, in the graduating class of 2023. This past club season, I competed with CJVA 17 Black. I'm excited for this opportunity to share a little bit of my background, and what I look forward to as a prospective college student-athlete.
I started learning how to play volleyball when I was about 10 years old, in fourth grade. Falling in love with the sport immediately, I continue to play high school volleyball, travel club volleyball, beach volleyball, and attend camps, clinics, and showcases. My parents were both collegiate athletes and taught me at a young age that opportunities are to be earned and that there may be some sacrifices along the way.
I made a decision to enroll at Hudson Catholic for my high school career. I wanted to play for a competitive high school program, and Hudson Catholic perennially ranks in the Top 20 of New Jersey. I also was excited to participate academically in the dual-enrollment program, which is partnered with St. Peter's University. Playing volleyball at this school has allowed me to participate in events such as high school invitationals, a county championships, the NIKE Tournament of Champions, and UNDER ARMOUR Phenom Select. As for club, I've been able to compete in many multi-day regional tournaments, as well as our GEVA Region Power League schedule every year.
As for my future educational opportunities, I have had an interest in pre-med with a focus on Sports Medicine. I am open-minded to other fields. Thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about me, and I hope that you can come to watch me play sometime.
Thank you,
Drew Leonardis
