Before falling in love with volleyball, I played other sports like soccer, gymnastics, and dance for many years. However, volleyball is the one that clicked. I started playing in 7th grade when I decided to try out for my middle school team. Although I did not make the team, I used the opportunity to try out for club volleyball to make myself a better player and come back stronger. Now I am a starter and key player for both my high school team at the varsity level and my club team at the national level. I have become a versatile player while playing as a middle blocker and both pin hitters. On and off the court, I stay involved in the game, whether doing my best to trick other blockers or hyping up my team when we are down a couple of points. I work hard to improve my skills and mechanics to become a better player.
I may not play volleyball for the rest of my life after college. Therefore, I take my academics seriously. I am an honor roll student and strive to get A's in all my classes. Although I may not get the outcome I want the first time, whether on a test or a final grade, as long as I go back and try harder the next time, I know I eventually will. Ultimately, I am very passionate about volleyball and school, so I plan to attend a college that is strong academically and athletically and just the right fit for me.
