Hello my name is Jenessa Lombardi, I currently attend Donovan Catholic High School in Toms River, New Jersey. I will be graduating in 2018. I started playing volleyball at the age of 11, and I knew right away that the sport of volleyball would be my passion. One of my goals is to achieve my Masters in Elementary Education and certification in Special Education. I have learned to accomplish my goal of maintaining straight A's and playing volleyball through a lot of hard work and dedication. I am ranked number 30 in my class and have achieved Principals Honor Roll every marking period. I can balance my time and management very well. I will have taken by the end of my senior year 16 Honors courses, 2 AP courses and 6 College Prep courses. While taking all of these courses, I have maintained an incredibly high GPA while balancing the clubs that I partake in at school as well as school, club, and beach volleyball. I will be looking for a school that has a strong academic program that is interested in my academic and athletic success.
I am a volunteer teachers assistant at the Saint Joseph Grade-school in Toms River, New Jersey during the summer for the special needs children. I am a member of the O.C.E.A.N., Inc Head Start Program. I assist the teacher in reading to the children and play with the disadvantaged preschoolers. I also take part as a member of the National Honors Society. I am a player that is coachable and want to continually learn to become a better person on and off the court.
I enjoy competition and want to be challenged at a collegiate level. I am proud of my accomplishments and the recognition I have received athletically. I am a great leader. I have been a six rotation setter and a captain all throughout my volleyball career since the 6th grade. I have been a varsity starter since sophomore year and will have played 4 years of national team club volleyball once my senior year of High School concludes. My junior year I made Third Team All Shore in the Conference as well As Third Team All B-South in the Division. My senior year I achieved the record for the most assists in my high school, 1230. I am the recipient of the Moorestown Tip-Off Tournament All Star Player award, making Third Team All Non-Public State Ledger, First Team All Shore in the Conference and B-South Division. I was voted and named top performer in the second round of states and chosen to play in the Senior All Star Game representing Donovan Catholic for Ocean County against the Monmouth County all stars. I show handwork, commitment, dedication, and sportsmanship on and off of the court to my friends and teammates that turn into family. I have a strong serve, as well as strong offensive tactics. I know that I will make a positive contribution to a college team that has the right fit for me!
