Sofia D'Arcangelo '26 Recruiting Profile

My personal goal is to play Division I or Division II college volleyball while working towards earning my college degree.  I prioritize my education as I value academics an essential component for future success. I am interested in studying Speech Language Pathology.  I have the enthusiasm, determination, passion, and drive that will help me continue to develop as a dedicated and versatile player.  In the 2023-2024 season, I played club volleyball for the East Coast Crush North National U-17 team (#5) as a Libero/Defensive Specialist. For my high school Varsity team, I played OH/DS my freshman year and played Libero my sophomore year. As a junior, I am the Libero at Donovan Catholic High School, with over 750 career digs and over 100 aces, with All- State, Region, Conference, and Division Honors. I also play competitive Beach Volleyball and I enjoy competing in tournaments with the AVP in addition to competitions with local/regional/national organizations.  I am dedicated to the game and my teammates, I am motivated to continue to develop as volleyball player, and I play with integrity.  I am a team leader that believes in leading by example.  I am a kind, supportive, and encouraging teammate and a very coachable player.  I strive to give all I have in practice and to play with enthusiasm and tenacity.  I also enjoy working extensively outside of practice during small-group and individual instruction to help further develop my skills to become better at the sport I truly love.

I value a healthy lifestyle and believe in maintaining a consistent exercise program.  I earned two Varsity letters as a freshman, I participated in volleyball and in track and field where I specialized in pole vault. I have enjoyed participating in a variety of sports and athletic activities including gymnastics, soccer, powerlifting, and speed and agility training. I embrace hard work and I have found a successful balance between family, sports, and academics.  My academic achievements are the foundation to my success, and I am proud to be a high honor roll student.  I have learned that being part of a team requires personal accountability, hard work, and determination.  I look forward to the opportunity to play volleyball at the collegiate level.
