Natalie Martinez '18 Recruiting Profile

Since I can remember, I was playing all types of sports.  When I started playing volleyball in seventh grade, I fell in love with the sport, especially the competitive side of it.  I found that this is the sport I wanted to continue to play and strive in.  I put 200% into every practice and I'm always pushing myself.  In the beginning of my high school season, I was selected to be the team captain for C team.  The following year, I was selected team captain for the JV team.  A few games into the season I was moved up to play on varsity; I continued to be the best that I can be for the team and for myself.  I was always encouraging myself along with my teammates and motivating us to play and think as one.  Once the school season is over I play on a club team.  I'm either practicing, playing or traveling to tournaments, or taking private lessons to understand the mental/strategic game better and to communicate that to my teammates.

When it comes to academics, I am no different.  I aim to be the best in the class and to get the best grades.  I maintain above a 3.0 GPA.  Once out of high school I want to go into the field of biology or psychology. 

The ideal college I want to attend pushes me to be a better version of myself academically and athletically.  I am open minded to many options and ready to see what life has in store for me.
