I have been playing volleyball as a setter since I was 10 years old. I have experience playing both a 6-2 and a 5-1 offense. My goal and desire is to play college volleyball at an institution that will complement both my academic and athletic aspirations.
I absolutely love the setting position and running the offense. I‘ve worked countless hours and continue to work on improving my hands, speeding up my release, staying neutral, setting against the flow, and improving my vision of the blockers. I’m working on my speed and agility on defense and reading the hitters. I am working with my hitters to run a tempo offense to give them a one-on-one opportunity against the block. In high school we are a very small team, so the quick tempo gives us an advantage. I am currently running a 6-2 offense with my club team and working on spreading out the ball and utilizing my middles in transition.
High School:
I’ve been the starting setter at 5A Los Lunas High School since my 8th grade year. My first season was modified due to Covid and we only played 10 matches. As a freshman, I led my team to a District Championship and we qualified for the State Playoffs. I finished in the top 3 in the state of New Mexico for class 5A in total assists. I earned All-Tournament in the Tournament of Champions as well as 1st team All-District and All Metro Honors. As a sophomore our team was back to back District Champions, state qualifiers, I earned the honor of 5A District Player of the Year, 1st Team All-District, 2nd Team All-Metro and 2nd Team All-State as well as All-Tournament Team for both tournaments we played in. My junior year we 3-peated as District Champs, finished 5th in State in 5A, I was voted 5A District Player of the Year for the second time, 1st Team All-District, 2nd Team All-Metro and 2nd Team All-State as well as All-Tournament Team.
