COURTNEY HEANEY '18 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing volleyball since I was nine years old. I fell in love with the sport at my very first practice. My strong desire to play continues as I look toward the road to my college career. I can’t wait to play volleyball at the college level. I am willing to go above and beyond in my sport and my academics to make that happen.

I have great confidence and focus on the court. I am quick to set the ball from anywhere on the court. I am a strong server who loves the opportunity to serve for the win. I lead my team, in my role as captain, to the best of my ability. I lead by example and continually strive to direct and encourage my teammates. I am a very coachable player. I consider myself to be one of the hardest working players on the court. You will find me to be one of the hardest working recruits.

In the classroom, I study hard and maintain a high GPA. I’m well aware that my academics are just as important as my involvement on the volleyball court. I not only put a great deal of time into my studies, I also participate in my school’s Key Club, and volunteer at the local public library. In addition, I spend time working with one of the younger club volleyball teams. I work with them during their practices and their tournaments.

When I think about what I want in a college, I definitely want one where I will excel in both the classroom and on the court.  I am open-minded and I know that I will find the right match in a college academically and athletically. I want a college where I can be proud as a student and an athlete, and my parents can be proud of me.
